Nepal’s national men’s cricket team is returning to Darwin for the 2026 Study NT Top End T20 Series.
Northern Territory Cricket confirmed Nepal as the first team locked in for the tournament, which runs in late August. Nepal’s participation follows its landmark 2025 appearance, when the national side played in Australia for the first time.
The return is particularly significant for Australia’s fast-growing Nepali community. Cricket gives the diaspora a rare opportunity to support Nepal’s national team on Australian soil while also exposing the players to strong domestic and development squads.
Nepal’s regular-round schedule includes matches against NT Strike, Bangladesh High Performance, Hobart Hurricanes, ACT Comets, HH Kingsmen and Victoria, with finals to follow if the team qualifies.
The tournament is also becoming a useful bridge between Australian and South Asian cricket markets, with Nepal’s passionate fan base bringing additional attention to Darwin.
For Nepalis elsewhere in Australia, the series is worth following even if travelling to Darwin is not practical. Australia Nepal will publish event information and match updates separately as the tournament approaches.
